Sandcastles to hold The Masked (Local) Singer fundraiser

LUDINGTON — Sandcastles Children’s Museum will hold a fundraiser on Friday, April 21 titled The Masked (Local) Singer. The evening will celebrate the museum’s 17th year along with the opening of two new exhibits.

The event is based on the popular FOX television show, where celebrities perform in elaborate full-body costumes and judges then comment on and guess the identities behind the masks. The audience casts votes for their favorite singer and then one-by-one, the singers are revealed.

The ticketed fundraiser, for adults ages 21 and older, will begin at 6 p.m. at Sandcastles, 129 E. Ludington Ave. Tickets are $50 for general admission, or $200 for a VIP table for two. All tickets include dinner, dessert, and one voting ticket in addition to the show. There will be a cash bar available for premium beverage purchases and complimentary non-alcoholic drink choices. Additional votes may be purchased at the event for $5 each and will come with an extra ticket to drop in the prize bowl. VIP seating is for the performance only and comes with table service, premium beverage of choice, some special swag, and the chance to ask one of the singers a question.

Sponsorships are being accepted for the event and donations of goods/services for the giveaways. All proceeds from the evening will be used to continue providing the highest quality exhibits and programming for children and families in our area for generations to come. Tickets are available online at www.sandcastleschildrensmuseum.com/maskedsinger or at the museum front desk. For questions regarding sponsorship/donations, please email sandcastleschildrensmuseum@gmail.com.

Sandcastles introduced two new exhibits this year: ¡Hola! Speaking Spanish at Sandcastles, presented in cooperation with Great Lakes Energy; and Michigan Woodlands, presented in cooperation with Community Foundation for Mason County and the Ludington Area Jaycees.

Sandcastles provides over $10,000 a year in free passes to organizations serving those in need. It also offers its workshops free of charge through partnerships with other foundations and diligent grant-writing.
