Obituary: Terry Usoff, 74, of Branch

Terry Lee Mink” Usoff,” 74, of Branch, formerly of Groves, Texas, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023. Terry was born October 30, 1948, the son of Albert Nicholas and Grace Louise (Keith) Usoff. 

He was a 1966 graduate of Port Neches/Groves High School. After high school, Terry served honorably in the U.S. Army from May 1967 to December 1969. He served in Vietnam from October 1968 to October 1969, turning 20 and 21 in Vietnam. 

He received his welder/pipe fitter certificate after completing a five year apprenticeship program in Beaumont, Texas. Terry was a master welder and pipe fitter for over 45 years, working all over the United States. He married the love of his life, Karen Elaine Bouwkamp on September 9, 1989. Terry loved to hunt and hunted all over the United States, but primarily in Colorado. Over his lifetime, he built many stainless steel flag poles for friends and relatives, including the 40-foot flagpole which stands in front of the VFW in Custer.

Terry is survived by his wife, Karen E. Usoff; daughter, Misty Usoff; stepdaughter, Alesia DeLaCruz; step-granddaughter, Brittany DeLaCruz; brothers, Michael (Susie) Usoff and Craig Usoff; sisters, Barbie Bauer, Cheryl Carter, and Kim Bates; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. 

Memorial contributions in Terry’s honor can be made to Path of Life or Women’s Jericho House in Ludington. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Path of Life Ministries, Pere Marquette Township. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. at the church.
