LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court. 

Garland

– Melissa Jean Garland, 29. Offense date, Oct. 27, 2022. Arrested by Mason County Sheriff’s Office. Count 1: Assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault); plea, guilty, on Jan. 3, 2023. Sentenced on Feb. 28, 2023: Count 1: three days jail with credit for three days served, fines/fees.

Mills

– Dakota Lee Mills, 23. Offense date: Oct. 14, 2022. Arrested by Mason County Sheriff’s Office. Count 1: Carrying a concealed weapon; plea, guilty on Jan. 3, 2023. Count 2: Dangerous weapon – miscellaneous; dismissed on Jan. 3, 2023. Count 3: Operating a vehicle while intoxicated/impaired, second offense; plea, guilty, on Jan. 3, 2023. Count 4: Open alcohol container in a vehicle; dismissed on Feb. 28, 2023. Sentencing: Count 1: One day in jail with credit for time served, two years probation, fines/fees. Count 3: One day in jail with credit for one day served, fines/fees. Sentences are concurrent. 

Munoz

– Ramon Munoz, 38. Offense date: March 10, 2021. Arrested by Ludington Police Department. Counts 1-4: Assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer; plea: guilty on counts 3 and 4; counts 1 and 2 dismissed, Feb. 28, 2023. Sentencing: Four days in jail with credit for four days served, two years probation, fines/fees. 

– Paul Alan Shively, 46. Offense date, Sept. 28, 2022. Arrested by Ludington Police Department. Count 1: Stalking; plea, guilty, on Jan. 3, 2023. Sentencing: Nine months jail with credit for one day served, five years probation, fines/fees.

Vella

– Anthony David Vella, 38. Offense date, July 22, 2022. Arrested by Mason County Sheriff’s Office. Count 1: Possession of methamphetamine/ecstasy; plea, guilty, on Jan. 10, 2023. Sentencing: 12 months jail with credit for 13 days served, three years probation, fines/fees.

Willard

– Taylor James Willard, 29. Offense date, Sept. 9, 2022. Arrested by Michigan State Police. Count 1: Possession of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic; plea, guilty on Jan. 3, 2023. Count 2: Domestic violence; dismissed. Sentencing: 10 days jail with credit for 10 days served, 12 months probation, fines/fees.
