WSCC to host Nursing Career Day

WSCC News is a presentation of West Shore Community College in partnership with Mason County Press.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — Nursing Career Day, an annual event sponsored by West Shore Community College’s Nursing and Allied Health Division, will be held Wednesday, Mar. 8 in the Tech Center atrium from 10 a.m. to noon. Now in its 21st year, the event is designed to create a forum for WSCC nursing students and alumni to connect with employers, particularly hospitals, healthcare-related organizations, as well as graduate schools of nursing.

“This event is organized by the nursing department and always offers an opportunity to make helpful contacts, whether a nursing job search is for the immediate future or a little further out,” said Shelley Boes, WSCC director of nursing and allied health. “It gives our students an opportunity to speak with prospective employers and colleges/universities for those students wishing to further their education beyond West Shore. Many students have found employment from this event and the students have been busy preparing their resumes and thinking about questions they might ask of the vendors related to education or employment.”

Over 20 hospitals, healthcare-related organizations, and colleges/universities are scheduled to be represented at this year’s event.  The event is organized specifically for graduating RN students but all levels of nursing students are invited.
