Obituary: John Fletcher, 78, of Ludington, formerly of Hart

​ John Robert Fletcher, 78, of Ludington, formerly of Hart, died Saturday, February 11, 2023, at home.  He was born December 7, 1944, in Muskegon, the son of John B. and Ruth (McCaleb) Fletcher.

​ John graduated from Hart High School.  He then went into the Army where he served in Korea during Vietnam.  Afterwards John went to work as a plumber and HVAC technician with his dad, where they owned and operated Fletcher plumbing, and later Fletcher Haynor LP Gas.

​ In his spare time, John enjoyed helping friends, fishing, visiting and collecting lighthouses, and being an avid American Flyer model train enthusiast.  Most of all, John loved spending time with his family, especially the family camping trips.

​ John was a member of the Hart Fire Department for many years, the American Legion and the Hart Jaycees.

​ On October 18, 1975, in Hart, John married Kathy Williams, who survives him.  He is also survived by: his sons, Kasey Fletcher of Honor, and Michael (Jenna) Fletcher of Erie, Colorado; his grandchildren, Cody, Nolan, Keenan, Allee, Kylee, and Adaline Fletcher; his great-grandchildren, Lukah, Jameson, and Amelia Fletcher; his sister, Debbie (Terry) Haynor of Hart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by: his parents; his sister, Shirley Jane; and his granddaughter, Layla E. Fletcher.

​ Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, with Pastor Dennis Bromley officiating. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery in the spring.  Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
