Chuck Ucherek

Obituary: Charles Ucherek, 70, of Branch

Charles Stephen Ucherek, 70, of Branch, formally of Dwight, Ill., passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023.

Chuck was born on July 25, 1952, the son of the late Stephen Anthony and Eugenia (Rom) Ucherek. He was a 1970 graduate of Downers Grove North High School, in Downers Grove, Ill. He went to Lincoln Tech where he earned his degree as a heavy equipment mechanic. On July 14, 1973, he married Sandra (Kubala) Ucherek. After 30 years as a heavy equipment mechanic, Chuck retired in 1999 from Material Service in Romeoville, Ill. He was also the proud owner and operator of 7 Fold Boarding Kennel, in Dwight Ill.   Chuck was also an active member in his churches, Belmont Bible Church in Downers Grove, Ill, Pontiac Bible Church in Pontiac, Ill, and most recently Crossroads Church in Scottville.

Chuck was blessed to have possessed many gifts and talents which he used for God’s glory. He was an artist, musician, and song writer. Any chance he got, Chuck would be outdoors. He loved boating, fishing, hunting, and working in the garage on some kind of project. He left this world with no regrets, living for what mattered most. He accomplished what God set out for him. We thank God for the legacy he leaves.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Sandra Ucherek of Branch; children, Sara (Jason) Faulkner of Clifton, Ill., Benjamin (Julie) Ucherek of Champaign, Ill., Stephen (Kristen) Ucherek of Freeport, Ill., Daniel (Christi) Ucherek of Cancun, Mexico, and Amy (Andrew) Davis of Windsor, Wis.; and 13 grandchildren.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Eugenia Ucherek; father and mother in-law, Philip and Lena Kubala.
