Woman arrested for OWI, illegal entry after allegedly barging into home and then fleeing in vehicle.

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — A 21-year-old Ludington woman was arrested by a Mason County sheriff’s deputy Sunday, Dec. 4, shortly after 2 a.m. after she allegedly “forced her way into a home” at Marilyn and Jagger roads and then fled in a vehicle, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The suspect was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated and illegal entry, said Sheriff Cole. The homeowner made a 911 call reporting the woman barged into the home. “The homeowner did not know the person, who fled the scene in her vehicle but was captured by a deputy who was in the area.”

  • 8:18 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway north of Kistler Road, Summit Township.

Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022:

  • ​1:38 a.m., (LPD), a 29-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for an outstanding traffic-related warrant issued by Oceana County’s 79th District Court, Nelson Road and US 10​, City of Ludington. She was transported to the county line by a Mason County deputy; transferred to an Oceana County deputy; and lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
  • 6:19 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Custer Township.
  • 1:10 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Fisher Road east of Peterson Road, Victory Township.
  • 1:48 p.m.,  (MCSO), a 27-year-old Manistee man was arrested on four outstanding criminal bench warrants for failure to appear issued by LPD following a traffic stop, US 10 and Dennis Road, Amber Township.
  • 3:33 p.m., (MCSO), hit-and-run crash, no injury, Main Street south of State Street, City of Scottville.
  • 4:55 p.m., (MCSO), damaged property, 1300 block of North Rath Avenue, Pere Marquette Township. The complainant reported a pickup truck ran over his mailbox.

Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022:

  • 12:29 a.m., (LPD), ​a 22-year-old Houston, Texas man was arrested for driving while intoxicated and driving without a license, Ludington and Staffon​ ​streets, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 2:55 a.m., (MCSO), a 22-year-old Mason County man was arrested for disorderly person following a reported one-vehicle crash, 100 block of South Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township. During the 911 call to dispatch, the subject reportedly gave a fake name. When deputies arrived, the suspect attempted to “shove” his way past a deputy and also gave the deputy a fake name.
  • 12:25 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Chauvez Road east of Custer Road, Eden Township.
  • 1:56 p.m., (LPD), ​a 22-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on a failure to appear warrant issued by Mason County’s 79th District Court, 700 block of North Lavinia Street​, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 4 p.m., (MSP), a 54-year-old Scottville man was cited for operating without insurance, US 10 and Brye Road, Amber Township.
  • 4:10 p.m., (MSP), car/deer crash, Angling Road near Beaune Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 7:55 p.m., (MSP), car/deer crash, southbound US 31 near Oceana Drive, Summit Township.
