Obituary: Alice White, 91, of Ludington

Alice Lorain White, 91, of Fountain, formally of Muskegon passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022. Alice was born on February 11, 1931, in Muskegon, the daughter of Clyde and Mary (Porter) Nuttall. She attended Beach School in Muskegon and eventually graduated from Muskegon Heights High School. 

On July 1, 1949, she married the love of her life, Joseph H. White in Muskegon. They spent 57 wonderful years together until his passing on November 24, 2006. Alice and Joseph moved from the Muskegon area to Fountain in 1972.  She retired in 1990 from Urka Auto Center. Alice was known for her love of arts and crafts; Alice and her husband started a craft business called Mom & Pop Crafts that closed in 2004. 

Alice is survived by three sons: Roger L. White, Michael A. (Connie) White, and Steven J. (Tami) White; two daughters: Esther J. White and Sharon E. Phillips; friend, Bill Hedgelin; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph H. Jr.; grandsons: Jason and Bryan; granddaughter, Jennifer; and great granddaughters: Lily and Morgan. 

A funeral service will take place Friday, November 4, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington. Visitation will begin at noon. Alice will be laid to rest at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, www.oakgroveludington.com.
