CUSTER — Students from Mason County Eastern High School’s freshman biology class helped members of the Custer sculpture committee and employees from Larsen’s Landscaping Wednesday with the landscaping around the village’s sculpture, “Johnny’s Bandstand” located on South Main Street. Teacher Hannah O’Conner said the students were, most importantly, learning civic duties, but also learning lessons in the art of landscaping and utilizing various plants and grasses around art.

Committee member Lolly Griswold said the landscaping is one of the very last steps in the sculpture project, which began four years ago.
