Scottville DPW working on broken downtown water main.
SCOTTVILLE — The City of Scottville has shut down a small portion of city water service to the downtown area due to a water main break. The area affected is the south portion of the 100 block of South Main Street between the pocket parks and railroad tracks.
City Manager Jimmy Newkirk said the city’s department of public works will be working a contractor with the hope to get the water service restored as soon as possible.
The street will be shut down when contractors arrive on site.
“The broken line has been isolated and will not affect anyone in Scottville except for select businesses downtown and the apartment residents above those businesses,” Newkirk said. “No other residential areas have been affected. We will be posting updates on the city Facebook and web pages. Thanks for your patience.”
