LUDINGTON — A 36-year-old Ludington man was arrested by Ludington police on charges of felonious assault and assault and battery Monday, Aug. 22, shortly before noon in the 800 block of St. Paul Street, according to Cpt. Steve Wietrzykowski. “The victims — a 74-year-old Ludington man and a 56-year-old Shelby man — were not injured,” said Wietrzykowski. All three men were known to each other and not occupants of the same household.

The suspect was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

In a separate incident, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a damaged property complaint received Monday shortly after 5 p.m. in the 4500 block of East Fountain Road in Sherman Township, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. “The complainant reported someone had pried open a locked money box used to collect money for firewood,” said Sheriff Cole.
