Motorcyclist suffers minor injuries after hitting vehicle head-on.

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP — A 24-year-old Scottville man riding a motorcycle received minor injuries after after crashing head-on with a vehicle on Lakeshore Drive south of Birchwood Drive Saturday, July 23, shortly before 7:30 p.m.

“He was going too fast, failed to negotiate a curve; crossed the centerline; and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle,” said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

  • Noon, (Ludington Police Department), a 58-year-old Traverse City man was arrested in Grand Traverse County on an outstanding warrant issued by the 79th District Court for charges of methamphetamine possession and fourth-offense habitual offender. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 1:37 p.m., (MCSO), ​a 35-year-old Scottville man was arrested for second-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS) and methamphetamine possession, Tuttle and Filburn roads, Custer Township.
  • 2:31 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive north of Bryant Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 5:09 p.m., ​(MCSO), a 64-year-old Brookston, Indiana woman was arrested for operating while under the influence of drugs  following a one-vehicle crash, northbound US 31, Amber Township. “Her vehicle left the westbound US 10 off-ramp; struck a road sign; and went into several trees,” said Sheriff Cole. “Neither she nor her passenger were injured.”

  • 12:35 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township.
  • 12:59 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Branch Township.
  • 6:44 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Scottville Road north of Conrad Road, Custer Township.
  • 1:17 p.m., (MCSO), ​a 55-year-old Custer man was arrested on a Mason County contempt of court warrant, 1700 block of East Hansen Road, Custer Township.
  • 3:01 p.m.., (MCSO), car/deer crash causing minor injuries, northbound US 31 freeway near the rest area, Summit Township. Four occupants — all from Valparaiso, Indiana — were treated at the scene by Life EMS.
  • 7:27 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 22-year-old Grand Rapids man was cited for careless driving, 5500 block of Lakeshore Drive, Summit Township.

Sunday, July 24, 2022:

  • ​12:54 a.m., (LPD), a 50-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated and for having open intoxicants in her vehicle, ​Loomis and James​ streets, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 2:46 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.
  • 7:27 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Townline Road west of Stiles Road, Victory Township.
  • 3:37 p.m., (LPD), ​a 41-year-old Grand Rapids woman was arrested on an outstanding child support warrant issued by Mackinac County, Ludington Avenue and Madison ​Street, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 9:08 p.m., (MCSO), ​two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 and Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township.
