Obituary: Rochelle Herban, 92, of Ludington, formerly of Scottville. 

Rochelle Ruth Herban, 92, of Ludington, formerly of Scottville, passed away on June 9, 2022.

Rochelle was born on February 15, 1930 in Ludington, the daughter of William and Mamie (Marquand) Rohrmoser. She graduated from Scottville High School with the class of 1948. On September 8, 1951, she married the love of her life, Stephen Earl Herban. 

Rochelle was a member of the United Methodist Church of Scottville and later Community Church in Ludington. When she wasn’t working on her garden, Rochelle enjoyed making ceramics and needlepoint. She also dedicated her time to Child Study Club which helps guide the spiritual, mental, and physical life of children.

Rochelle is survived by her daughters, Nancy S. Shilander and Lynne K. (Larry) Gaylord; grandchildren, Nicole (Rick) Payne, David (De) Gaylord, and Kelly (John) Welke; 3 great grandchildren; and many cousins.

Besides her parents, Rochelle was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Stephen Earl Herban and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington. She will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery following a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elara Caring Hospice.
