Firefighters extinguish fire at Timbers in downtown Ludington.

LUDINGTON — Firefighters from Ludington Fire Department and Pere Marquette Township Fire Department spent about an hour extinguishing a fire at Timbers Steak and Seafood restaurant, 320 S. James St., Saturday, June 11. Ludington Fire Department was dispatched at 9:39 p.m. About 10:30 p.m., LFD Fire Chief John Henderson declared the fire had been extinguished and expected to spend another 90 minutes cleaning up debris and clearing smoke. 

Initial dispatch information stated there was smoke in the walls of the building. Much of the heavier smoke appeared to be coming from the second floor on the west side (back) of the building. No external flames were showing.  The business was open when the fire was discovered. 

Ludington Police Department officers and Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies also assisted on scene.
