Third graders explore WSCC and CTE.

West Shore School News is presented by West Shore Educational Service District in partnership with Mason County Press and Oceana County Press.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — Over 600 third graders from Mason, Lake, Manistee and Oceana counties are participating in WSCC, CTE and Me Days on the main campus of West Shore Community College. The program began today, Tuesday, May 24, with over 300 third graders and concludes Wednesday, May 25 with another group. Students explore programs offered by WSCC and West Shore Educational Service District’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.

The purpose of the event is to introduce third grade students to community college and CTE programs, showing them possible careers, and allowing them to experience certain tasks within six different career zones including arts and communication, business, management, marketing, technology, health sciences, human services, engineering/manufacturing, industrial technology, natural resources and agriculture.
