LHS ranks in magazine’s Best High Schools in America report.

Ludington High School has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report magazine in its Best High Schools in America. LHS has been ranked in the report since 2017. The magazine ranked 18,000 public high schools out of more than 24, 000 that were reviewed.

Graduation rates and college readiness are key metrics within the 2022 Best High Schools rankings, released earlier this week. There are six indicators of school quality measured by the index for each public school that determined the rankings this year. Those can be found at

“The District could not be more proud of its staff and students,” High School Principal Dan Mesyar said. “We realize the past two years have been difficult on all stakeholders in our community, but our commitment has not changed. This is truly a pre-kindergarten to grade 12 award. The District is proud of the continued dedication and hard work, perseverance, and pursuit of educational excellence by its staff, students, and families.”

Mesyar said the school district will continue to evaluate the data to grow and improve upon its performance from last year. “We are proud of this accomplishment and will celebrate it together as one school community with all of Ludington.”
