MCE Athletic Boosters to hold spring auction Saturday.

CUSTER — Mason County Eastern Athletic Boosters will hold its annual auction, in person, on Saturday, April 23 at Sherman Township Hall, 3854 E. Main St., in Fountain. The event is the organization’s primary fundraiser and helps offset costs of athletic equipment and operations for MCE. According to organizer Sheri Howe, the booster club is raising donations to purchase new scoreboards for the gymnasium, and the softball and baseball fields. Much of the funds have been committed from local businesses, but more funds are still needed. Another large purchase will be updating the high jump matts for the track and field teams.

The auction begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $10 per person or $5 per person who donated. It will include a taco bar and water and coffee. Attendees may bring their own beverages. The event includes a silent auction, live auction (with auctioneer Joe Johnson, formerly of Scottville), 50/50 drawing, mystery prize (valued at $200), and much more. Some of the highlight items include a fishing charter, paddle board, handmade wooden American firefighter flag, and several quilts.

This is the first time the event has been held in person since 2019.
