Sheridan Twp. man sent to prison for firing weapon inside house.

LUDINGTON — Kyle Robert-Anthony Plasterer of 6690 E. Borowski Rd., Sheridan Township, was sentenced Wednesday in 51st Circuit Court to 36 months to 30 years in prison. Plasterer was arrested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 3, 2021 after he fired several rounds with a long rifle gun inside a house in the 6100 block of East US 10 in Walhalla. He was arraigned on felony charges of discharging a firearm in a residence and misdemeanor charges of domestic assault and assault and battery, of which he pleaded guilty to all three charges. At the time of the incident, Plasterer was 29-years-old.

Life EMS had originally responded to a medical call regarding a male who had reportedly fallen out of bed, said Sheriff Kim Cole in a press release on Jan. 4, 2021. Upon arrival of EMS, the paramedics had realized shots had been fired in the home. “EMS backed out and called for law enforcement,” Cole said.

“Arriving deputies made contact with two adults who were outside the home and learned a male subject was still inside. He was reported to have access to at least two long guns and had fired multiple rounds off inside the home during an assault. It was learned through interviewing the adults that the suspect had physically assaulted a female he had been in a relationship with. During the assault, a long gun was pulled and several rounds fired. It was also reported there were two small children in the home during the event. The children had been removed by the two adults during the initial fleeing of the home.

“The Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT) was activated and was able to take the subject into custody without incident. Deputies reported observing numerous bullet holes in windows and walls at the scene. The victims, a father and his daughter, were not injured.”

According to court records, Plasterer has appeared before the 79th District Court 18 times on criminal charges.
