79th District Court news, posted March 18, 2022.

LUDINGTON — The following court proceedings recently occurred in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

Felonies

Young

-Jeffery Clay Young, 52, of 6571 E. Beech St., Hamlin Township, was arrested March 12 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on felony charges of unarmed robbery, possession of a controlled substance (analogues) and fourth offense habitual offender. Probable cause hearing: March 23 at 1 p.m. Bail: $10,000 cash.

Jablonski

-Brandon Matthew Jablonski, 30, of 239 Gibson Rd., Branch Township, was arrested March 15 by MCSO on a felony charge of second-degree killing/torturing animals. Probable cause hearing: March 30 at 1 p.m. Bail: $5,000/10 percent.

Brault

-Michael Gregory Brault, 34, of 621 E. Dowland St., Ludington, was arrested March 15 by MCSO on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine/ecstasy). Probable cause hearing: March 30 at 1 p.m. Bail: $5,000 personal recognizance.

Perez

-Viviana Perez, 38, of 207 S. Dryden St., Hart, was arrested March 14 by MCSO on felony charges of carrying a concealed weapon, driving while license suspended (DWLS) second offense, and operating without security (no vehicle insurance). Probable cause hearing: March 23 at 1 p.m. Bail: $5,000 personal recognizance.

Plasterer

-Kevin Lee Plasterer, 48, of 6919 E. US-10, Branch Township, was arrested March 16 by MCSO on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance (analogues). Probable cause hearing: March 30 at 1 p.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

Vigansky

-Tabitha Nicole Vigansky, 41, of 6506 Linden Rd., Hamlin Township, was arrested March 13 by the Ludington Police Department (LPD) on felony charges of operating under the influence of liquor (OUIL) third offense and second offense driving while license suspended (DWLS). Probable cause hearing: March 23 at 1 p.m. Bail: $750 cash.

Williams

– Eric Edward Williams, 41, of 710 E. Loomis St., Ludington, was arrested March 14 by the Ludington Police Department (LPD) on a felony charge of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. Probable cause hearing: March 23 at 1 p.m. Bail: $250 cash.

Cripe

-Matthew James Cripe, 31, of 1765 Patrick Henry Dr., Scottville, was arrested March 13 by MCSO on three felony counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. Probable cause hearing: March 23 at 1 p.m. Bail: $250 cash.

Miller

-Donald Thomas Miller, 33, of 408 First St., Ludington, was arrested March 14 by LPD on felony charges of tampering with an electronic monitoring device and fourth offense habitual offender. Probable cause hearing: March 23 at 1 p.m. Bail: $100 cash.

Cruz

-Denise Cruz, 27, of 3155 S. Scottville Rd., Riverton Township, was arrested March 15 by SSCENT on felony charges of delivery/manufacturing a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and maintaining a drug house. Probable cause hearing: March 30 at 1 p.m. Bail: $100 cash.

Misdemeanors
– Zane Thomas Valley, 32, of 5483 Hesslund Rd., Pere Marquette Township; March 13; MCSO; operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI). Pretrial: April 18 at 9:45 a.m. Bail: $250 cash.

-Jaylan Damon Jones, 22, of 1168 Brookway Ct., Norton Shores; March 10; LPD; DWLS. Pretrial: April 4 at 10 a.m. Bail: $100 cash.

-Blake Thomas Alvesteffer, 24, of 5656 S. Eden Lake Rd., Eden Township; March 15; MCSO; assault and battery. Pretrial: April 4 at 10:15 a.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

Sentencings
-Jason Daniel Blough, 38, of 6949 Hermitage Rd., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty March 16 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and unlawful license plates and was sentenced to pay $285 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). A charge of operating without vehicle insurance was dismissed.

-Nathanial Carl Tjapkes, 38, of PO Box 624, Baldwin, pleaded guilty March 16 to operating a vehicle without a license and was sentenced to seven days in jail with credit for seven days already served and $185 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
-Garret Scott Buck, 30, of 2622 W. Anthony Rd., Pentwater, pleaded guilty March 16 to malicious destruction of a building and was sentenced to pay $335 in fines/costs.

-Carl Lee Herring, 31, of 415 S. Hart St., Hart, pleaded guilty March 16 to assault and battery and was sentenced to 16 days in jail with credit for 16 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with the victim; and $325 in fines/costs.

-James Robert Wicks, 55, of 595 Taylor Rd., Branch Township, pleaded guilty March 16 to larceny less than $200 and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and $410.68 in fines/costs/restitution.

-Roxanne Rae Meyers, 38, of 379 Walnut St., Shelby, pleaded guilty March 16 to false pretenses less than $200 and was sentenced to pay $410 in fines/costs.
