Holiday open skate will raise money for girl undergoing cancer treatments.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — West Shore Wolves Amateur Hockey Association will host a holiday open skate session on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at West Shore Community Ice Arena on the campus of West Shore Community College. Admission is $5 per person, which includes skate rental.

Typically, the association’s annual open skate event raises money to purchase training materials and cover costs for coaches and players. This year, however, the association has chosen to give the majority of the funds to Charity Lawler, sister of Brady Lawler, a member of the 10U Wolves team. Charity was recently diagnosed with cancer and is currently living at Helen Devos Children’s Hospital, in Grand Rapids, with her mother while she endures intense chemotherapy treatments.

The Dec. 19 event will include skating to Christmas music, a 50/50 raffle, a gift card tree covered in $20 gift cards from various businesses (purchased at $10). Additional donations can also be made to Charity Lawler to assist with her treatment.
