The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement until 3:45 p.m. today, Sunday, Sept. 12. Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Mason, Oceana, Newaygo and Lake counties. At 2:40 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms located 15 miles west of Ludington and 20 miles west of Silver Lake State Park. Movement was toward the east at 50 mph.
Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail is possible.
