Man charged with 3 counts of resisting arrest.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — A 48-year-old Ludington man was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies on three counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police Saturday, Aug. 28, shortly after 9 p.m. in the 3500 block of West Fisher Road.

The deputies responded to a medical assist call where the man was reportedly arguing with paramedics and first responders, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. “Following numerous attempts to get the male subject to stop interfering with responders, he attempted to fight deputies,” said Sheriff Cole. 

He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

  • 4:20 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), police officers stopped a black Ford Edge in which the driver, a 21-year-old Ludington man, was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS) and the passenger, a 27-year-old Fountain area man, was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for dangerous drugs issued by the 78th District Court in Oceana County, Madison Street and Ludington​ Avenue, City of Ludington. The 27-year-old man was turned over to the Michigan State Police and lodged in the Oceana County Jail. ​
  • 11:17 p.m., (LPD), ​a 32-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued by the 79th District Court for DWLS, 400 block of East Sixth Street​, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

  • 10:14 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Townline Road west of Quarterline Road, Victory Township.
  • 10:25 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, minor injury, US 10 and Tuttle Road, Custer Township.
  • 1:46 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, minor injury, M 116 south of the Ludington State Park entrance, Hamlin Township.
  • 2:16 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway south of US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 5:10 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 and Maple Road, Branch Township.

  • 1:49 a.m., (MCSO), a 36-year-old Fremont woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated (OWI) following a traffic stop, Sherman Street and Tinkham Avenue, City of Ludington.
  • 3:02 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Scottville Road north of Marrison Road, Eden Township.
  • 3:05 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 4:59 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 east of Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 8 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Custer Road south of Fountain Road, Sherman Township.

Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021:

  • 1:41 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Saunders near Budzynski (Branch Township)
  • 6:24 a.m., (MCSO), assault/illegal entry, 2100 block of West Dewey Road, Victory Township. A report will be forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office seeking charges related to an assault and illegal entry complaint involving a 31-year-old Ludington man.  The report alleges an assault against a 31-year-old Albion, Michigan man
  • 1 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 39-year-old Scottville man was arrested for assault, City of Scottville.
