Fruitport Schools hires Kennedy as next superintendent.

By Rob Alway, Editor-in-Chief.

Ludington Area School District’s superintendent, Jason Kennedy, was selected tonight by the Fruitport Community Schools Board of Education to become the Muskegon County school district’s next superintendent. According to a press release from Fruitport Schools, the board of education unanimously voted to enter into contract negotiations with Kennedy, who has agreed to begin the discussions as well.

In his short time at LASD, Kennedy oversaw the passage of a $100 million building project that includes a new kindergarten through fifth grade elementary complex and also major renovations to the high school and middle school, among other facility upgrades.

Kennedy told the Fruitport board of education that he and his family are looking forward to becoming a part of the Fruitport community.
