Indiana man arrested after jumping from vehicle on highway.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP —  A 25-year-old Indianapolis, Indiana man was arrested for disorderly person after he jumped from a vehicle on Pere Marquette Highway at the US 31 southbound on-ramp and then started walking down US 31 Monday, July 5, shortly before 4:30 a.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The man jumped from the vehicle after punching the driver, who is a family member.

“He was found by deputies to be highly intoxicated and refused the deputies’ directions,” said Sheriff Cole. 

The following is other Mason County Sheriff’s Office activity Monday, July 5, 2021:

  • 3:41 a.m., a 29-year-old Scottville man was arrested on an outstanding warrant, 900 block of West Ludington Avenue, City of Ludington.
  • 3:40 p.m., two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 east of Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 6:44 p.m., a 51-year-old Scottville man was arrested on two outstanding criminal bench warrants issued in Mason County for failure to appear for a pretrial, 1900 block of West Dewey Road, Victory Township.
