79th District Court sentencings, posted June 3, 2021.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Amanda Rae McMann, 37, of 7140 S. Westshore Dr., Rothbury, pleaded guilty May 24 to second degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 14 days in jail with credit for 14 days served; must attend economic crimes program; and $152.42 in fines/costs/restitution. 

-Megan Ivy Shook, 21, of 1311 S. Madison St., Ludington, pleaded guilty May 27 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to pay $285 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).

-James Roy Steiger, 68, of 6689 E. Marshall Rd., Branch Township, pleaded no contest May 24 to trespassing and was sentenced to 30 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with the victim; and $285 in fines/costs.

-Brennan Todd Morley, 21, of 4068 E. Church St., Fountain, pleaded guilty May 24 to selling/furnishing alcohol to a minor and was sentenced to 60 days discretionary jail for one yea; no contact with the victim; must have a substance abuse evaluation; subject to random PBTs and $285 in fines/costs. Two additional counts of selling/furnishing alcohol to a minor were dismissed.

-Amy Marie Sherman, 41, of 9654 S. Wildwood Blvd., Baldwin, pleaded no contest May 24 to malicious use of a telecommunications device and was sentenced to 180 days discretionary jail for one year; must obtain mental health counseling; 20 hours of community service; and $735 in fines/costs. 

-Duane Charles Broughton, 51, of 504 E. Danaher St., Ludington, pleaded guilty May 24 to disorderly drunk person and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance abuse evaluation; and $285 in fines/costs.

-Joshua Morgan, 46, of 1037 Michigan St., Apt. 304, Grand Rapids, pleaded guilty May 24 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; and $25 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. Charges of operating with a blood alcohol level of .17 or higher were dismissed.

-Thomas Leroy Hagenbaugh, 49, of 2820 E. Meisenheimer Rd., Eden Township, pleaded guilty May 26 to possession of a firearm while under the influence and was sentenced to pay $150 in fines/costs and must forfeit the weapon. A charge of carrying a concealed weapon was dismissed.

-Jeffrey Martin Carlson, 58, of 400 Chester St., Pentwater, pleaded guilty June 1 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must complete alcohol highway safety training; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
