Obituary: Emma Rae Poll, 2, of Ludington.
Emma Rae Poll, our precious 2-year-old, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. She was born April 21, 2019, in Fremont, Michigan.
Emma was a precious gift and a blessing to her parents who took her home straight from the hospital and fought hard and finalized her adoption on her second birthday. She was a precious blessing from that first day out of the hospital and every day. She made the family complete. She was always happy, smiling, and chatty; often getting strangers’ attention by saying “hey, hey hey” or, more recently, “hey ba-bay.” People frequently marveled over how adorable and precious she was. She was a bubbly character with an infectious personality and a big smile.
Even at her young age, Emma showed a great love for being outdoors. She especially loved going to their camp in the Upper Peninsula and taking quad rides. Mealtime was easy for Mom and Dad, because Emma was a good eater. She loved going out to restaurants with her parents and locking eyes with strangers; no one ever complained about sweet Emma interrupting their meal. She never tired of attention, and no one tired of her. Emma brought nothing but laughter and smiles to everyone. Emma also loved doing everything her brother did, whether it was playing with him or just playing with his toys.
Emma’s life may seem all too brief, but it was not without purpose; she lives on in our hearts and minds, and she lives on physically via the gift of organ donation. She is gone from this world, but her loved ones cling to the promise that Emma has gone to be with her Father in Heaven.
Emma is survived by her parents, Drew and Wendy (Mallia) Poll; her brother, Caleb Poll; her grandpa, Gary Poll; her maternal grandmother, Terie Mallia; her aunts, Ashley Whisman, Mandy Mallia; .her mamaw, Leeann Whisman; and her aunt, Alexis Poll.
Emma was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Nancy Poll.
A celebration of Emma’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 11, 2021, at Prayer and Praise, in Ludington, Pastor Henrik Lidman officiating.
Emma’s family wishes to acknowledge Pastor Henrik, their church family, Mason County fire departments, EMS, and local law enforcement, and the community for their unwavering love, support, grace, and prayers during this tremendously difficult time as well as the incredible medical team at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital for their efforts.
