Fundraiser established for family of 2-year-old who died in pool accident.

LUDINGTON — Prayer and Praise Assembly of God Church has set up a fund to help the family of Emma Poll. Emma, 2, the daughter of Drew and Wendy Poll, passed away last Wednesday following an accident in a swimming pool at the family’s home in Hamlin Township. 

The Polls had just adopted Emma and had just celebrated her birthday.

“We understanding that there are many who may not be able to help financially or may not necessarily be able to help with a meal,” said Pastor Henrik Lidman of Prayer & Praise. “The Poll family could always use prayer as well.” 

The accident occurred Monday, May 17 about 6:30 p.m. Emma was airlifted by AeroMed helicopter to DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. The family chose to harvest her organs, which included her heart, lungs and kidneys. 

“It was discovered that Emma had a very rare blood type,” Pastor Lidman said. “Her death has been tragic but Emma has saved the life of three children.” 

Emergency personnel on the scene of the accident included Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police — Hart Post, Hamlin Fire Department, Life EMS and the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Victim Services Unit.
