Rasmussen Road to close for construction.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A portion of Rasmussen Road will be closed for construction beginning Thursday, March 25. The $1 million project will include reconstruction of the road beginning at Jebavy Drive east .6 mile. It will include tree removal, removal of pavement, earthwork, culvert replacements, widening of the roadway, installation of curb and gutter, ditching, flattening slopes, aggregate base, and paving.

The project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration, Michigan Department of Transportation, Pere Marquette Charter Township and the Mason County Road Commission.

The detour will include Jebavy Drive to US 10, to Dennis Road and then to Hansen Road.

The project is expected to be completed by July 2.
