Bomb squad called to examine suspicious package.

LUDINGTON — Officers from the Ludington Police Department were dispatched to Oxy Chem Corporation, 1600 S. Madison St., about 1:30 p.m. today for a report of a suspicious package. 

The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad was requested, along with with deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from Michigan State Police Hart Post. 

The bomb squad examined the package and determined that there was no threat. according to Ludington Police Chief Timothy Kozal.   

“This incident and the circumstances surrounding the suspicion are being investigated by the Ludington Police Department,” Kozal said. “Once the investigation is complete, the report will be sent to the Mason County prosecutor for review.”
