PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 39-year-old Ludington man was arrested for operating while intoxicated after hitting a fire hydrant with the vehicle he was driving and attempting to flee the scene Sunday, Dec. 20, at 1:15 a.m. in the 5400 block of Rasmussen Road, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. He was captured by Mason County sheriff’s deputies a short distance away from the crash scene.

– 9:21 a.m., (Ludington Police Department), ​a 34-year-old Ludington man was arrested for public intoxication, failure to identify to police, and probation violation, Melendy Street and Jackson​ Road, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

– 7:13 p.m., (MCSO), a 30-year-old Rapid City, Michigan man was cited for operating without a license following a traffic stop, US 10 and Gordon Road, Amber Township.
