Obituary: Raymond John Artiglere Jr., 53, of Baldwin

Raymond John Artiglere Jr., 53, of Baldwin, formerly of Madison, N.J., passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020.

Raymond was born on August 3, 1967 in Morristown, N.J.  He was raised by his loving grandmother, Taffy Anderson, in Madison, N.J.

As a teenager, Raymond had immense joy working for the carnival circuit.  He worked most of his life as a carnival worker and was a prolific lot man.  After exploring the southern states of South Carolina, FLorida and Louisiana, the carnival circuit brought him to the northern states where he met his wife, Melissa Ann Duval, in New Hampshire. They were married on April 10, 2010.  Raymond had a passion for cooking.  He loved working as a chef in the carnival’s off-season.

Raymond was full of life and always tried to make others laugh when they were down.  He was a great listener and had an open ear and shoulder to cry on.  Raymond was funny and a bit of a prankster.  He had his moments of wisdom.

Even with his love of life, Raymond had his demons.  He suffered greatly from deep depression and drug addiction.  He may not have been perfect, but he was always there to help people in need.

Raymond was a good husband and the best father (Papa Bear) to his children and stepchildren.  An absolutely wonderful and caring Pop-Pop to his three granddaughters, who loved him dearly.  He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Melissa Ann Artiglere; sons, Branden Scott and Jonathan Raymond; stepchildren, Shane Michael and Erica Lynn; grandchildren, Serafina Moon, Leliana Caine, and Sylvia Jane; his mother, Lillian Marie Kirkland; stepfather, Brant Kirkland; and brother, Keith Artiglere.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father, Raymond John Artiglere Sr.; and grandparents, Taffy Anderson, and Mary and John Artiglere.
