Public Notice: Board vacancies, City of Scottville

The City of Scottville is seeking to fill the following vacancies:

CITY COMMISSION – AT-LARGE

The City of Scottville is currently accepting letters of interest for the purpose of filling a vacant City Commission seat.  The successful candidate will be appointed to the City Commission until the next regular City election held on November 5, 2024.  The successful applicant must be a resident of the City of Scottville for at least one year immediately preceding their appointment to office.  The successful applicant must also be a qualified and registered voter of the City of Scottville prior to their appointment and throughout their tenure in office.  Interested persons must submit a Letter of Interest to the City Manager at Scottville City Hall, 105 North Main Street, Scottville, MI 49454 or emailed to citymanager@cityofscottville.org.  Letters of Interest will be received until such time an appointment is made.  The appointment shall be made no later than Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Regular Commission meeting that starts at 5:30pm.  For further information you may contact the City offices at 231-757-4729.  The City of Scottville is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY BOARD

The City of Scottville is currently accepting letters of interest for the purpose of filling one or more available seats on the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board for a three-year term, through December 2023. To serve, you must either have a business interest in the Downtown or be a resident within the DDA Boundaries. The Board meets monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 8:30am. Interested persons must submit a Letter of Interest to the City Manager at Scottville City Hall, 105 North Main Street, Scottville, MI 49454.  Letters of Interest will be received until such time an appointment is made.  

PLANNING COMMISSION

 The City of Scottville is currently accepting letters of interest for the purpose of filling one or more available seats on the Planning Commission. The appointments are for a three-year term, through December 2023. Members of the Commission shall be qualified electors of the City of Scottville, with exception available for up to two (2) representatives from the surrounding area that are similarly qualified to represent areas of major interest within the City. The Board meets monthly on the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm. Interested persons must submit a Letter of Interest to the City Manager at Scottville City Hall, 105 North Main Street, Scottville, MI 49454.  Letters of Interest will be received until such time an appointment is made.  

BOARD OF REVIEW 

The City of Scottville is currently accepting letters of interest for the purpose of filling an available 3-year term (through December 2023) of the Board of Review. The successful applicant must be a resident of the City of Scottville for at least one year immediately preceding their appointment to office.  The successful applicant must also be a qualified and registered voter of the City of Scottville prior to their appointment and throughout their tenure in office. Members should have some knowledge and experience in property valuation and property taxation. The Board of Review holds two required sessions in March and may hold two or more review meetings throughout the year as deemed necessary by the Property Appraiser.  Interested persons must submit a Letter of Interest to the City Manager at Scottville City Hall, 105 North Main Street, Scottville, MI 49454.  Letters of Interest will be received until such time an appointment is made.
