Passenger arrested on felony warrant allegedly throws pizza box at motorist.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 41-year-old Hazel Park, Michigan man was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant Sunday, Sept. 6, shortly after 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of US 10 and Pere Marquette Highway allegedly threw a pizza box at another motorist while he was riding in a vehicle, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The arrest resulted in the traffic complaint, Cole said.

The warrant for third-offense operating while intoxicated was issued by the Ferndale Police Department.

Friday, Sept. 4, 2020:

– 6:06 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Freeman Road, Free Soil Township.

– 12:46 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road west of Reek Road, Sherman Township.

– 2:42 p.m., a 23-year-old Remus, Michigan woman was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS) following a traffic stop, Fountain and Angling roads, Victory Township.

– 3:11 pm., one-vehicle crash, no injury, Masten Road north of Anthony Road, Logan Township.

– 3:44 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Lakeshore Drive and Third Street, Summit Township.

– 5:30 p.m., one-vehicle crash, serious injuries, Stark Road north of Hasenbank Road, Free Soil Township. Janice Reffitt, 72, of Free Soil sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries after the vehicle she was operating ran off Stark Road, struck a tree, re-entered the road and rolled over, trapping her inside.

– 8:30 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road east of Larson Road, Sheridan Township.

Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020:

– 12:16 a.m., assault, Nordhouse Dunes, Grant Township. The complainant reported being assaulted by a subject who the complainant knows. The suspect left the area prior to deputies’ arrival. The is case open.

– 8:05 a.m., alarm activation, Amber Township.

– 8:34 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township.

– 8:44 a.m., a 57-year-old Ludington man was arrested for methamphetamine possession following a traffic stop, Bryant Road and Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township.

– 1:52 p.m., bond violation, Schoenherr and Hansen roads, Branch Township. A report will be forwarded to the courts after a traffic stop found a 35-year-old Ludington man in violation of his bond on an assault charge.

– 2:52 p.m., retail fraud, Walmart, 4800 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township. A report will be forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office for potential charges.

– 10:35 p.m., warrant arrest, US 10 and Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township. A 35-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on three outstanding warrants (one in Mason County and two in Manistee County) following a traffic stop.

Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020:

– 10:12 a.m., aggravated domestic assault by strangulation, 6500 block of East Dewey Road, Sheridan Township. A 26-year-old West Olive, Michigan man was arrested following a 911 call reporting an assault.

– 7:49 p.m., two-vehicle crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway and US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
