Castonia defeats Kirkpatrick for second district county commission seat.

LUDINGTON — Gary Castonia has won the Republican party nomination for the Mason County Commission Second District seat. Castonia, the incumbent, defeated challenger Jason Kirkpatrick 267-216 in a close race. There are no Democratic candidates. Unless there is a write-in candidate, Castonia will be unopposed in the November General Election.

Castonia was appointed to the position in 2017. He is the chairman of the Public Safety and Courts Committee, on the Solid Waste Planning Committee and board member of Parks & Recreation Commission.
