HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — A 44-year-old Grand Rapids man was injured following a water skiing accident on Hamlin Lake Thursday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“Life EMS transported him to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital for non-life-threatening injures,” Cole said.

The following is other Mason County Sheriff’s Office activity Thursday, July 9, 2020:

– 12:10 a.m., alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.

– 7:04 a.m., alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.

– 6:27 p.m., damaged property – cell phone, 200 block of Northwood Drive, Branch Township. The complainant reported that a cell phone was damaged during an altercation. The case remains under investigation.

– 6:50 p.m., retail fraud, Dollar General, 9300 block of North US 31, Grant Township. A report will be forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office following an alleged retail fraud involving a 30-year-old Free Soil woman.

– 10 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway near Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
