Cole announces he will seek third term as sheriff.

LUDINGTON — Kim Cole formally announced today that he will seek a third term as Mason County sheriff. Cole, who has worked for the Mason County Sheriff’s Office for 35 years, was first elected in 2012. Since that time, the Republican sheriff has increased the size of the county’s road patrol by four deputies following the successful approval of a millage increase in 2018.

In 2012 Cole defeated incumbent sheriff Jeff Fiers. In 2016 he ran unopposed. To date, no other person has announced a candidacy for sheriff.

“I have been so fortunate to be surrounded by great people in this position as Mason County sheriff,” Cole said. “It is truly an honor.”
