79th District Court sentencings, posted Jan. 22, 2020.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Lucas Joseph Cady, 38, of 4865 Lakeview Dr., Interlochen, pleaded no contest Jan. 14 to domestic violence and was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must live in an alcohol and drug free environment; must seek and maintain employment; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must participate in community recovery groups; and $795 in fines/costs. Charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and attempted assault were dismissed.

-Shawn Michael Sroka, 44, of 417 N. William St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Jan. 14 to disorderly person jostling and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with the victim; must not enter the Sandbar for one year; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; and $285 in fines/costs. A charge of assault and battery was dismissed.

-Jacob Wayne Peasley, 24, of 14416 Madron Lake Rd., Buchannan, pleaded guilty Jan. 14 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and $1,095 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). A charge of having an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle was dismissed.

-Laura Lynne Keeley, 53, of 6319 Outer Loop Dr., Logan Township, pleaded guilty Jan. 14 to disorderly person jostling and was sentenced to four days in jail with credit for four days in jail; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must have anger management evaluation; no contact with victim; may perform 29 hours of community service; and $285 in fines/costs. Charges of operating a vehicle without insurance and unlawful license plates were dismissed.

-Alan Michael McCrath, 36, of 721 Diana St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Jan. 7 to failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for one year and must pay $635 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Avonlea Renee Hernandez, 26, of 113 E. First St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Jan. 14 to embezzlement by an agent or trustee and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $670.81 in fines/costs/restitution.

-Gary Harland Heinz, Jr., 21, of 3299 N. Jebavy Dr., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty Jan. 14 to malicious destruction of personal property and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with victim; and $595 in fines/costs.

-Rachael Joy Kraai VanOrder, 38, of 2007 N. Benson Rd., Sheridan Township, pleaded guilty Jan. 14 to failure to stop at the scene of an accident and driving while license not valid and was sentenced to pay $435 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Joseph Benjamin Ter-Haar, 33, of 3160 N. Amber Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty Jan. 14 to driving while license suspended and was sentenced to pay $285 in fines/costs. A charge of improper license plates was dismissed. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
