Fire destroys Victory Township house.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — Fire destroyed a home at 3680 N. Amber Road Saturday afternoon. The house was located north of Dewey Road. Scottville Fire Department Chief Dale Larr said nobody was home at the time of the fire. Larr, who lives in the vicinity, was the first firefighter to arrive on scene.

Larr said the origin of the fire was unknown but when he arrived on scene the fire appeared to have started in the back of the house in the area of the kitchen.

Emergency units responding included Scottville Fire Department, Hamlin Township Fire Department, Custer Fire Department, Fountain Area Fire Department, Pere Marquette Township Fire Department, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, and Life EMS.
