Car fire sparks drunk driving arrest.

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP – A 59-year-old Ypsilanti man was arrested by Michigan State Police troopers for operating with a high blood alcohol content Sunday, Dec. 29, shortly after 9 p.m. after the vehicle he was driving caught fire due to a mechanical issue on Jebavy Drive near Jagger Road, according to MSP Trooper Conner Crutchfield.

The man was lodged in the Mason County Jail

– 10:48 a.m., (Ludington Police Department), an an 81-year-old Ludington man was cited for disregarding a stop sign following a two-vehicle traffic crash, North Robert Street, City of Ludington.

– 2:10 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 32-year-old Scottville woman was arrested for driving an unregistered vehicle, US 10 and Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.

– 5:31 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle rollover crash, with injury, northbound US 31 north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township. A 53-year-old Manistee man received non-life-threatening injuries following a rollover crash.
