Hospital to hold surgery robot open house. 

LUDINGTON — An open house to showcase the new da Vinci Si surgery robot will be held today from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital main entrance lobby. Guests are invited to enjoy refreshments while trying their hand at robotic simulations. Surgery staff will be available to discuss the new technology and showcase surgical capabilities. 

The first procedure utilizing the robot was performed recently by KellyAnn Vandendool, MD, a board-certified general surgeon at the Ludington Hospital. Other surgeons utilizing robotic surgery for appropriate cases in Ludington include Bret Autrey, DO; Dan Gentry, MD; Margaret Gustafson, MD; Marian Fuller, MD; and Keith Langlois, MD. 

The da Vinci robot is currently being used for general and gynecological surgery at the Ludington Hospital.
