MCC H.G. Bacon Awards recipients.

SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central High School recently hosted the annual H.G. Bacon Awards for academic achievement. Students must obtain a 3.33 grade point average for all three trimesters from the previous school year. The program is named after the late Dr. H.G. Bacon of Scottville. The evening’s guest speaker was Bruce Smith, chairman of the West Shore Community College Board of Trustees. Smith is a former superintendent of MCC and former MCC High School principal who founded the H.G. Bacon awards over 40 years ago.
