Vehicle crash causes power outage in Summit Township. 

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP — A vehicle crash at 2:25 a.m. today caused a power outage for several hours in the southwestern portion of the county. According to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole, a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old Ludington man struck a utility pole near the intersection of Pere Marquette Highway and Deren Road. The driver received minor injuries after he fell asleep, causing his vehicle to run off the road and striking the pole, according to Cole.

Power was restored shortly after 10:30 a.m.
