Stiles Road to close Monday.

AMBER TOWNSHIP — Stiles Road from US 10/31 to Johnson Road (half mile) will be closed for two to three weeks beginning Monday, July 29. The closure is the first stage in extension of a 12-inch municipal water main to West Shore Community College at Stiles and Sugar Grove roads.

The water main is being installed approximately 6 feet west of Stiles Road, according to the Mason County Road Commission.

“For the safety of the motoring public and the workers the roadway will be closed to through traffic,” said Eric Nelson, county highway engineer. Residents who live in that section of Stiles Road and emergency responders will have access to the closed section.

The detour route is Dennis Road north to Johnson Road, east to Stiles Road.

Once the water main has been installed in that portion of Stiles Road, the detour will be changed to allow for construction of the next section.
