LUDINGTON — The following is recent activity of Mason County’s 79th District Court:

Felonies

O’Connell

-Shawn Daniel O’Connell, 39, of 104 E. Fifth St., Scottville, was arrested May 10 by MCSO on a felony charge of larceny of more than $1,000 but less than $20,000. Probably cause hearing: May 22 at 1:30 p.m. Bail: $7,500/10 percent.

Robbins

-Kevin Paul Robbins, 55, of 2258 N. Lakeshore Dr., Hamlin Township, was arrested May 10 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on a felony charge of third offense operating a vehicle while under the influence of liquor (OUIL). Probably cause hearing: May 22 at 1:30 p.m. Bail: $10,000/10 percent. Related story.

-Chad Edward Vanderbrink, 34, of 4589 S. Masten Rd., Logan Township, was arrested May 11 by MCSO on a felony charge of assault/resisting/obstructing a police officer. Probably cause hearing: May 22 at 1:30 p.m. Bail: $7,500/10 percent.

Sobers

-Heather Elizabeth Sobers, 24, of 694 Kahill Dr., Apt. 1-3, Baldwin, was arrested Nov. 30 by the Ludington Police Department (LPD) on a felony charge of delivery/manufacturing a controlled substance. Probably cause hearing: May 22 at 1:30 p.m. Bail: $5,000 personal recognizance.

Misdemeanors

-Julianita Esparza, 23, of 5634 W. Johnson Rd., Pere Marquette Township; May 11; MCSO; domestic violence. Pretrial: May 20 at 9:30 a.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

-Matthew David Willoughby, 31, of 9766 N. Stephens Rd., Free Soil Township; May 10; Scottville Police Department (SPD); second offense domestic violence. Pretrial: June 10 at 2:15 p.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

-Brandon Curtis Donahue, 39, of 360 Walhalla Rd., Branch Township; May 10; Michigan State Police (MSP); domestic violence. Pretrial: June 10 at 1:30 p.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

-Dedra Gay Garrett, 56, of 11824 N. Irons Rd., Irons; May 12; operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI). Pretrial: June 10 at 11:45 a.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

-Amanda Lynn Steffes, 29, of 4986 Wayne Rd., Pentwater; May 10; LPD; OWI. Pretrial: June 10 at 1:45 p.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

-Bryan Keith Jones, 46, of 6346 Glenwood Ave., Fremont; May 9; driving while license suspended. Pretrial: June 17 at 9:45 a.m. Bail: $1,500 personal recognizance.

79th District Court Sentencings

-William Lester Cole, 52, of 28 S. Taylor Rd., Branch Township, pleaded guilty May 14 to operating with a high blood alcohol content and was sentenced to 32 days in jail with credit for two days served; 180 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend victim’s impact panel; must attend AA two times per week for two years; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; subject to random PBTs; must attend substance abuse disorder program; and $1,425 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State. A charge of OWI was dismissed.

-Thomas Christopher Wilbur, 31, of 11363 N. Darr Rd., Manistee, pleaded guilty May 14 to OWI and was sentenced to 31 days in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend victim’s impact panel; must attend AA two times per week for two years; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; subject to random PBTs; must attend substance abuse disorder program; and $1,465 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State. A charge of operating with a blood alcohol content of over .17 was dismissed.
