Obituary: Nellie Scott, 100, Ludington.

Nellie M. Scott, 100, born in Wyoming Park, Mich., passed away Sunday April 14, 2019.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Merrill T. Scott; her daughter Suzanne Birtwistle; her brothers Miner Thomas, Miles (Mike) Thomas and Edward Thomas.

She is survived by her two sons, Tom (Mary) Scott and Steve (Sue) Scott; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Dian (Mike) Thomas and many nieces and nephews.

She was employed at one time by Ludington Area Public Schools and Godwin Heights Public Schools.  She was a lifelong member of Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel. She retired from Purity Cylinder Gases in 1982.  Before Merrill’s passing, they spent winters in Florida and summers in Newaygo. She returned to Ludington in 2004 where she enjoyed many more years with her family and friends.

She asked, “Remember me as you knew me.  God bless you.”
