Deputies awaken residents during chimney fire.

AMBER TOWNSHIP – Mason County sheriff’s deputies awakened two people who were sleeping inside a house during a chimney fire Wednesday, March 27, shortly after 5:32 a.m. ​in the 1700 block of North US 31, said Sheriff Kim Cole.

“The deputies responded to a reported chimney fire and were able to awaken two subjects in the home who were unaware of the fire,” Cole said. No one was hurt.

The deputies assisted with traffic while the Scottville Fire Department extinguished the fire.

– 12:20 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Chauvez Road west of Stiles Road, Riverton Township)

– 1:21 p.m., a 29-year-old Custer man was arrested for domestic violence following a 911 call reporting an assault, Village of Custer.

– 7:27 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 Freeway north of Pere Marquette Highway overpass, Summit Township.

– 11:21 p.m., alarm activation, 4500 block of West US 10, Amber Township.
