Obituary: Mary Rodriguez, 98, Ludington.

Mary Louise Rodriguez, 98, of Ludington, passed away peacefully in her home Wednesday, March 20, 2019. She was born March 11, 1921 in Houston, Texas to Martin and Perfecta (Enjosa) Aleman. She married the late Joseph Leon Rodriguez on August 10, 1940 in Houston. Together they raised five daughters.

Mary worked for Straits Steel Co. for 45 years. She was an active member of St. Simon Catholic Church, the Ladies Emblem Club of the Elks, Ladies Lincoln Hills Golf Club, the Ladies Bowling League of Ludington, LUSCOTTCU Trailer Club of Scottville, Custer, and Ludington. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed gardening, crafts, reading, bowling, and golfing. Mary loved her long time pet companion, “Rio”, an African Conure.

Mary will be greatly missed by her daughters, Connie (Jim) Konicki, Stella (William) Micho, and Dee (Earl) White; her grandchildren, Joe (Cindy) Raskey, Scott Raskey, Denise Konicki, Marc (Margaret) Evans, Keri (Shawn) Leonard, Dana Stasczkiewicz, and Greg Rodriguez;  her step-grandson, Kent (Annette) Micho; her great-grandchildren, Lucas Raskey, Jacob Raskey, Brooke Evans, Aiden Leonard, Reece Leonard, Austin Micho, Ondrea Tran, and Dillion Postma; her four sisters; and three brothers.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; her daughters, Gloria Raskey and Rosalie Stasczkiewicz; and her granddaughter, Stephanie Raskey.

Mary had a great love for animals. Memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be directed to The Mooch Fund C/O Whitefish Animal Hospital.

A Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be held Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 2 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. at St. Simon Catholic Church, the Rev. Wayne B. Wheeler, presiding.
