Ludington woman faces jail for analogue possession.

LUDINGTON – A 34-year-old Ludington woman faces serving three months of a one-year discretionary jail term after pleading guilty in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, March 5, to possession of analogues and fourth-offense habitual offender.

Tonya Marie Sheffield, of 208 W. Third St., could have served up to 15 years in prison due to her habitual offender status. In exchange for her plea, charges of larceny in a building and larceny $1,000-$20,000 were dismissed. The larceny charges stem from the theft of wedding bands valued at over $5,000, said Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola.

Sheffield testified that in November of 2018 she was in possession of two pills of methylphenidate.

She has previous convictions of welfare fraud in 2011 and larceny in building in 2013 and 2015, said Spaniola.

The drug conviction will require that her driver’s license is suspended for six months with a restricted license after 30 days.

Sentencing guidelines in the case are 0-22 months.

Sentencing is set for April 9 at 1:30 p.m.
