Obituary: Marsha Giles, 79, Ludington.

Marsha Giles, 79, of Ludington, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019.

Marsha was born on November 4, 1939 in Scottville, the daughter of Stanislaus and Mabel (Barton) Matevich.  She graduated from Mason County Central High School in 1958 and married Charles Giles on May 21, 1961.

Marsha was a seamstress while raising her six children.  She celebrated their accomplishments and it was important to her that they be happy and healthy.  Marsha enjoyed reading, gardening, Lion’s football, fishing, sewing, puzzles, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Her artistic side would shine through her painting, crocheting, and flower arranging. Marsha also loved walking and spending time with her dog Domino.

Marsha is survived by her children, Kimberly (David) Peck, Catherine (John) Beckett, Stanley (Sarah) Giles, and Genevieve Davis; grandchildren, Dawn and David Jr. Peck, Margaret Haveman, Kristen Malburg, Greg Kaatz, Regina and Amber Giles, and Joshua and Randy Davis; step- grandchildren, Ryan and Allie Beckett; sister, Delcina Ritter; sister in law Fran Matevich, and 21 great grandchildren.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Stanislaus and Mabel Matevich; husband, Charles Giles; children, Charles and Karen Giles; siblings, Robert and Delos Matevich; and daughter-in-law, Sarah Giles.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at noon, at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, with visitation starting at 11 a.m.  She will inurned at Lakeview Cemetery in August. Memorial contributions may be made to Mason County District Library in Ludington.
