79th District Court sentencings and dismissals, posted Jan. 17, 2019.

The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Donald Sanchez Delapaz, 35, of 1700 La Belle St., Apt. 17, Grand Rapids, pleaded no contest on Jan. 8 to domestic violence and was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for five days served, 93 days discretionary jail for two years, must have substance abuse evaluation and follow the recommendations, no contact with the victim, no drugs/alcohol, subject to random PBTs, and $910 in fines/costs.

-Phillip David Hockenberry, 28, of 606 E. Ludington Ave., Apt. 2, Ludington, pleaded guilty Jan. 8 to third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 16 days in jail with credit for 16 days served, 93 days discretionary jail for one year, $65.93 in restitution, and $815 in fines/costs. A second count of third-degree retail fraud was dismissed by the prosecutor as part of a plea agreement.

-Clayton Kenneth James Clark, 45, of 206 ½ E. Danaher St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Jan. 8 to operating while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served, 93 days discretionary jail for one year, must attend victim’s impact panel, no drugs/alcohol, subject to random PBTs, must complete outpatient treatment, and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). A charge of refusing a preliminary breath test was dismissed by the prosecutor as part of a plea agreement.

-Michael Anthony Mahan, 46, of 3910 Yorkland Dr. NW, Apt. 5, Comstock Park, pleaded guilty Jan. 9 to OWIL and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served, 93 days discretionary jail for one year, no drugs/alcohol, and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Dustin Michael Loper, 42, of 14976 Ridgemoor St., Unit 204, Grand Haven, pleaded guilty Jan. 11 to failure to report an accident and was sentenced to pay $325 in fines/costs.

Dismissals

-Kayla Marie Shinsky, 31, of 2867 Jebavy Dr., Hamlin Township, had a charge of domestic violence dismissed without prejudice per a deferment agreement on Dec. 27.

-Michelle Lanette Wendorf, 59, of 308 Maple Ave., Scottville, had a charge of operating a vehicle without security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on Jan. 9 after she provided the court with proof of insurance.

-Neiko Ryan Olds, 17, of 2140 Custer Rd., Sherman Township, had a charge of possession of marijuana dismissed without prejudice on Jan. 7 as part of a plea agreement.

-Ashley June Edgington, 36, of 287 Hughes St., Manistee, had a charge of malicious destruction of property less than $200 dismissed without prejudice on Jan. 7 as part of a prosecutor’s deferral which includes paying full restitution.
